Body Image: Don't let it get you down!

So many of us struggle with dissatisfaction with our own body image. Truth is, none of us are perfect, as much as we wish we were. Yesterday, I was having one of those days where I wasn't feeling good about my own body image and I knew that I had to snap out of those type of unsatisfied thoughts. I had to jump on my own positivity train. I wasn't quite sure how to go about doing that so I decided to just look up photos online of fashion ideas that suit my particular body type. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the women in the photos looked awesome! So what the heck was my problem? Often times the areas we are dissatisfied with can be made to look flattering if we find the right clothes to wear. Are you unhappy with your body type? Search up what fashion styles would look good on you and try them out. You'd be surprised how great it makes you feel! It's the little things in life...

So today my journey begins and the thought or happy thing I have chosen to focus on was the fact that my husband called, while he was driving to an appointment, just to chat. I know it may seem small and silly to some, but for me, this really helped bring joy to my day. You see, I had just been thinking that it had been a while since my husband and I had had a chance to just chat. Kids and work have kept us fairly busy of late and I know that it's important to keep communication flowing for a happy and successful relationship so I really enjoyed our half-hour chat about random things and that he took the time to think of me and want to reach out. Don't worry he had me on speaker phone! What happy thing happened to you today? It can be something as simple as choosing a perfectly ripe fruit to eat that tasted delicious or something as huge as a new baby in your life or a terrific job promotion! Whatever your joy, share it with me!

Day One of Choosing to be Happy :-)

Wanna help me in my journey? I'm on a journey towards making my own happiness. I'm determined to live life to the fullest and not dwell on the pitfalls anymore. I want to be content and happy in the mundane day-to-day and affect those around me in a positive way while I'm at it. I am choosing, right now, to focus on the positive aspects of my life instead of focusing on the negative. I no longer want to overanalyze and overthink assumed hurts and slights inflicted on me. I'm also tired of the news being so focused on what's wrong with the world and I'm going to occasionally post about uplifting and happy stories that renew my faith in people.
